I have a question about Question 17907.

The correct answer is marked as C ("You are not allowed to stop."), with the explanation:

"You are not allowed to stop on the roadway and on the side lane."

However, I don't understand why.

According to the Belgian Road Traffic Code (Article 23 of the current Road Code), the general rule is that a stopped or parked vehicle should be placed:

outside the carriageway on the verge/side lane where possible;
if the verge is not wide enough, partly on the verge and partly on the carriageway;
if there is no usable verge, on the carriageway.

From the illustration, I cannot see any road sign, road marking, or other feature that would prohibit stopping (such as an E3 sign, yellow line, pedestrian crossing, motorway, etc.).

Could you please explain which specific rule makes stopping prohibited in this situation?

Is there some information missing from the illustration, or is there another regulation that applies here?

There is no such road markings.

You may not stop or park on the lateral strip of a central carriageway.

[Inazuma]

You may not stop or park on the lateral strip of a central carriageway.

It IS allowed to stop - (un)loading goods / (de)boarding passengers - on the lateral strip unless there is a useable verge (where you should halt instead)

But fiddling with a GSP or whatever, is considered PARKING
And that is NOT allowed on the lateral strip
