The Abelenstraat in Hasselt exits a 30 km/h zone. Here https://maps.app.goo.gl/NQJPTWG3s7rnZf266 from Google map you can see there is no sign to indicate the end of 30km/h zone.
However, when you enter it there is a sign showing a 30km/h zone as seen here https://maps.app.goo.gl/X6GE8eT3T2RP9Ayq9.
Moreover, it seems the turn is on a speed bump after which the speed is 50km/h (Buildup area of Hasselt), the Google map has old images and the speed bump is no there in the map.
1. How can someone possibly know the end of a 30km/h zone while there is no sign? (I have also encountered totally white washed out end of zone signs).
2. How could someone know there is a speed bump at the turn? Could be if the zones are changing there are always a speed bump?
The exit of 30km/h zone is not there

What I'm pretty sure is the end-zone 30 sign is the rectangle right above the red car

Always check the dates on StreetView, and don't mix them up

1. That's an issueReza schreef: 02 feb 2025, 17:45 1. How can someone possibly know the end of a 30km/h zone while there is no sign? (I have also encountered totally white washed out end of zone signs).

The signs aren't always there, that's true
but in this case it looks like they are
The gray on end-zone signs wears off way too quickly - same for the red on speed zone signs BTW
Newer end-zone signs are black for this very reason
2. In theory, there needs to be some kind of infrastructural arrangement at the start of every zone 30 to mark the transition
All too often there is none ...
The governments themselves are the worst traffic offenders ...
