As a general rule, it's mandatory to park on the verge, where available and useable

On level verges within the built-up area
On level or heightened verges alike, outside built-up area's

Always taking into consideration that parking may be illegal due to other rules or signs

Thanks for the explanation. I get this can happen to the pedestrian cross and you cannot park on the carriageway within 5 meters. You should always park on the ground-level verge. But the options with Yes and Yes, you must confuse me. Speaking in general English there is no must involved here. Are you allowed to park can be yes, unless we interpret the way with hindsight after looking at the answer. Unfortunately, we should live with the way the translated test is designed.
