learning by manual gear car practicing by an automatic car is allowed?
learning by manual gear car practicing by an automatic car is allowed?
I finished while ago 20 hours of learning how to drive with a driving school. Now I have a temporary driving license and still, I need to first practice and later give an exam to get my permanent driving license. I did my lessons with a manual gear car. I am wondering if I can practice with an automatic car or even later give the exam with an automatic car to apply for the automatic-car driving license.

Hi Mahdi,
Yes, you can. I did the same thing.

You may practice and do the examination with either kind of transmission
The transmission you do your exam with, will decide wether or not your driver's licence will be limited to an automatic transmission
NOTE:
Legally, the person accompanying you on your examination ride may have a licence limited to automatics, even with a manual transmission car ..
However: GOCA and Flanders will disallow you to do your exam in that case
They incorrectly claim the accompanying person must be allowed to drive the exam car
(which may make sense, but is NOT the law ... which only requires an unspecified driver's licence B)
