Since your driving license M18 has expired, you can currently NOT obtain a driving license M36. You could only have done that when your M18 was still valid. So, now it's too late for that.
You have 3 options at the moment.
Option 1
Either you wait 3 years, starting from the expiry date of your provisonal driving license M18. Then you can obtain a provsional driving license M36 of M18.
But this is te least obvious option, I guess.
Option 2
You follow at least 6 hours of driving lessons at an acrredited driving school. Then you can exchange your expired M18 for an M12. This is a provisional driving license on which you list at least 1, and maximum 2 supervisors.
The supervisor must attend a training session at an accredited driving school. This appears on the citizen profile of the supervisor. And this is checked on the day of your practical exam. Even if you take your exam via the driving school.
You can practice at home with your own car, accompanied by at least 1 of your 2 supervisors.
For the practical exam, you have a choice. Either with your own car, accompanied by 1 of your supervisors. Or via the driving school. In any case, you must present the certificate that your supervisor has followed that training moment. Even if you take the exam via the driving school.
Option 3
You follow at least 6 hours of driving lessons at an accredited driving school.
You exchange your M18 for an internship certificate (formerly known as "bijlage 4").
You can NOT practice at home with your own car. It is mandatory to take your practical exam with an accredited driving school.
Do not forget:
Your theory exam must still be valid on the day of your practical exam !
