nr1md schreef: 02 sep 2019, 09:32 In the book I see that the only rule while driving with a temporary license is not to drive in the night of a free day.
You may NOT drive between 2200 and 0600
- during weekend nights (fri - sat - sun, that is until monday morning 0600)
- the night preceding a public holiday
- the night of the public holiday

And it's far from the only rule ...

You may not tow a trailer

Commercial transport is not allowed

From friends I have heard that I cannot drive with pregnant women,
Urban legend

and everyone in the car should have 8+ years experience. Is that true?
Unless you have a provisional licence B / Model M18 (18 months) that allows you to drive alone
You need one or two persons to accompany you who
- must be registered on your licence
- depending on the region where you live, must follow a theoretical course before being allowed to accompany you
- must be seated in front of the car (which leads to a contradiction in the law as most cars only have 2 seats up front)
- may not have been registered on another provisional licence during the last year (exceptions for certain family members apply)

- must be eligible for a Belgian driver's licence (ie, must officially live in Belgium)
- must have had a valid licence B since at least 8 years
- may not actually be suspended, or have been suspended from driving by a Court during the last 3 years

If you have a provisional licence B / Model M18 (18 months) , only those last three requirements apply to the max 2 passengers you may (but need not) take along.

A provisional licence is not meant to shuttle other people around
It's meant to allow you to gain experience, and use the other people's experience to learn from them .

The law, if you can make sense out of it:

Thank you for your response.

So I can take only 1 person in the car, and that person should have at least 8 years driving experience?

There is nothing in the law regarding a pregnant woman.
If you have taken 20 hours of driving lessons in a driving school, you may take 2 persons who have a B driving license B for 8 years.

Hello,

In the book I see that the only rule while driving with a temporary license is not to drive in the night of a free day.

From friends I have heard that I cannot drive with pregnant women, and everyone in the car should have 8+ years experience. Is that true?

Can someone share the full list of requirements or share the actual law?

Thank you!
